After a stroke of good luck, one of my roommates earned a large profit from winning a lottery to get floor tickets to Penn’s spring concert (with David Guetta!) and selling the coveted tickets that none of us really wanted. To celebrate her winnings, she was so kind to share her profits and treat the room to classy dinner (seriously, who is that nice/generous?) at Talula’s Garden.
Everything tasted so fresh, and the flavor combinations were right on point. The entire meal was elegant and delectable, and they were so kind to bring us free samplings (and in three’s for the three of us!) of little bites (the toast and the madeleines), and I don’t even think we told them it was our first time. Highlights of the meal: the bass’ blood orange sauce, endives, the mushrooms in the beef dish, the sauce to go with the pork (that has unfortunately escaped my mind), and the general intimate atmosphere of the restaurant and friendliness of the staff. By far one of the best meals I’ve had in Philly, so thank you to Alina for taking me somewhere I probably wouldn’t have gone otherwise.
My dash of salt: Sweet and elegant, Talula’s Garden is pricey, but very much worth the cost. 4.5 out of 5. -S.
